Your MINDSET?

  • Not just any chef; you are Bluespoon’s Executive Chef;
  • A natural leader who has the ability to motivate and train those around them;
  • Passion for creating special menus, suggesting alternative menu items and minimizing waste;
  • By adding some personal flavor and touch, you never back away from all the administrative tasks, controlling food budgets and monitoring food costs.

What does the ROLE entail?

  • Leading the kitchen operation, ensuring optimal guest and colleague satisfaction, being on-site on business peak times and observing employee-guest/employee-internal customer interactions;
  • Handling all guest and internal customer complaints and inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, following through to make sure problems are resolved satisfactorily;
  • Constantly evaluating local, national and international market trends, vendors and other hotel/restaurant operations, ensuring the hotel’s operations remain competitive and cutting edge;
  • Tasting and monitoring the food products served throughout the operation, providing feedback where appropriate;
  • Overseeing the quality and variety of food and beverages served in the Employee Restaurant, ensuing it is operated to the same standard as any other outlet.

Qualifications

YOUR recipe to success:

  • Extensive experience in a Hotel or Restaurant with excellent quality and standards;
  • A degree in Culinary Arts, or equivalent experience and education in the form of courses, internships with well-known Chefs, or other sources of relevant knowledge;
  • Your own personal flavor, creativity, motivation, and a hands-on mentality;
  • True leadership and organizational skills – you will be in charge of a big team;
  • ‘HACCP’ is your middle name;
  • An international state of mind;
  • Good language and communication skills in English (and ideally in Dutch);
  • Legally allowed to work in the Netherlands, holding an EU/EEA passport or a valid work permit for the country (we do not assist with Visa / permit applications).

Bluespoon is located inside the Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht. The hotel combines the best of lifestyle and Boutique hotels with a contemporary and personal approach, and offers 117 artistically inspired spacious guestrooms and 5 luxury suites on the Prinsengracht.
